Only way way in and out of that cave it's in. Welcome back to Subnautica!

The Disease Research Facility is a destroyed Alien Base located in a cave that can be accessed from My take on what the Disease Research Facility from Subnautica would've looked like before it collapsed. There are two locked doors inside the Alien Thermal Plant, both of which require purple Alien Tablets to unlock. But it's not the disease research facility.

I appreciate you not wanting spoilers, but this part of the plot is very poorly constructed. You'll not find the research facility following the ingame clues unless you happen to stumble your way in the right place by accident. Wiki it, save yourself the headache. [No Spoilers] how do I get to the disease research facility? Question I would like to get precise directions on how to get there, I try wathibg videos but they don’t really show how to get there and it’s hard to skim through it without coming across spoilers, I would like to know some decent directions, and recommendations for going there.
