The 2018 International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code outlines the requirements for shipping dangerous goods internationally via marine transport.

IMDG Code is intended to protect crew members and to prevent marine pollution in the safe transportation of hazardous materials by vessel. The International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code was first published by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in 1965 and is now updated every two years. As of January 2004, the Code has been mandatory for the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) signatory states, effectively making it a global rulebook for the sea transport of Dangerous Goods.
